James Aldred heads our Pastoral Care team, monitoring boys' welfare and ensuring that our policies and practice provide a safe and happy learning environment.   He has a degree from the University of Newcastle.  After a short career in the food industry, in 2006 he retrained to become a teacher. He joined the staff in 2009 and is Deputy Head Pastoral, Head of Boarding and Head of Year 4.  He is married to Lucy who together were boarding house parents from 2009-2017.  He has 2 children: his son Isaac is in Year 7 and his daughter Miriam (Year 5) is keen for Summer Fields to start taking girls!
